On the bus, things seem to shift and sway,
As passengers whisper and move away.
Raising their books, not to be found,
The bus travels, like a library, around.
Some say: "Watch out, he has sharp teeth,"
But they don't know me, below the surface and beneath.
The teeth can be sharp, the tongue as well,
Thoughts can be sharp, that I can tell.
Others whisper: "Watch out, he has big claws,"
But big is good, and I have no flaws.
Big nose, big ears, isn’t it elegant?
Behold my friend, the majestic elephant.
They whisper: "Look at his eyes, how they glow,"
But they don't see who I am, the things I know.
The eyes can be blue, green, or even sad,
“You are the light of my eyes,” says my dad.
Someone whispers: "Just look at his stripes,"
But stripes are just a pattern, not my life.
A zebra has stripes, my aunt carries them proud,
My stripes are fun, let me say it loud.
And they say: "Don't play with him, he'll hurt you with his tail,"
But words can hurt more, and leave their own trail.
Look at a whale, a marvel of course,
It swings its tail with mighty force.
I may look fierce, with my fur so bright,
But I'm just a cub, I don’t want to fight.
Don't be afraid, to judge don’t be quick.
Come and say hi, and you might just pick
A friend for life, a companion on your way,
A little tiger cub, who loves laugh and play.
But when my mom holds me tight and near,
She says: „Don’t fear, my little dear!
You are my tiger, my little star.
Shine bright, so as you are!”
